You can take away my coffee
You can take away my tea
You can take away my hot chocolate
You can take away my TV
Take whatever you want
But don’t you take away my jellybread
You can take away my organ
You can take away my guitar
You can take away my house, man
You can take away my car
Take whatever you want
Just don’t you take away my jellybread
You can take away my blues riffs
You can take away my funk
You can take away my boogie woogie
You can take away all my junk
Take whatever you want
But don’t you take away my jellybread
Take away whatever you want man
Just don’t you be takin’ away my ol’ jellybread

Another one of my "lighthearted, nonserious" songs that I wrote while in the thick of my IDF service in the mid-1980s. For this one, I added a few simple lyrics to the Booker T. & the MGs song by the same title. The idea for the lyric came from a Schlitz beer commercial from 1978 ... "please don't take my gusto." Never actually recorded or performed (although I did jam on the original Booker T tune numerous times ... pun sort of intended).
