The angry young man is on the loose again
You thought you saw the last of him but he’s far from his end
They put him away for awhile but now he’s back
So the world ought to watch out ‘cause now he’s primed for attack
He’s on the side of right but he’s up against it
He’s looking for justice and he’s ready to defend it
His trust was betrayed and his heart has been broken
If they close the door in his face he’ll just smash it open
It’s the Return Of The Rebel
Ready to punch the first guy who gets on his nerves
It’s the Return Of The Rebel
Gonna strike back at society just like it deserves
His hair is long and his eyes are wild
His mode of dress and manners are anything but mild
He walks the tightrope and he’s aware of the danger
But he don’t care if to be strange is to be a stranger
It’s the Return Of The Rebel
He won’t trust anyone till he’s found out the truth
It’s the Return Of The Rebel
He’s getting older but still burning with the fire of youth
It’s the Return Of The Rebel
He’s been watching and he’s seen it all
It’s the Return Of The Rebel
He’s gonna break the bonds that hold him in thrall
It’s the Return Of The Rebel
Armed with blues and heavy metal
It’s the Return Of The Rebel
Nothing will hold him back no more

I wrote this one while I was still in the army, looking forward to the day I'd be getting out and resuming my business of being pissed off at the world. I was remembering how I was full of fire back in my high school and post–high school years, and I was hoping that I still had it. When I finally did get discharged from the service, I had other things on my mind ... getting married, for one thing ... but after that marriage ended in divorce, I had different reasons to be pissed off at the world. No music yet but I imagine it as a Thin Lizzy–esque hard rock shuffle.
